MANTIC RITUAL: First Footage Of New Frontman Posted Online

November 25, 2009

Video footage of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based old-school metallers MANTIC RITUAL performing the song "Souls" with their new vocalist/guitarist Dave Watson on October 31, 2009 at the Smiling Moose in the band's hometown can be viewed below. The clip was shot by Jon Orner and Todd Kappelt.

States MANTIC guitarist Jeff Potts: "'Souls' has been a standard in our set list and it's really grown on us since we started touring a lot this year. The song originally debuted three years ago in a VFW in Monaca, near Pittsburgh in February of 2006. While it was written before Dave joined the band, he did mix the first demo of it [when the band was still called MELTDOWN]."

He adds, "We have two new songs in our live set. One is called 'The Faceless God' and the other is 'Descent To Dawn'. We also have a new cover song in our arsenal! Showing that we can write and play better than ever is important. Also, we just feel that it's been far too long since we've had some new material in the set.

"We've all had some ideas lately and we're excited to get back into writing mode."

MANTIC RITUAL is currently touring North America with MARDUK, NACHTMYSTIUM, MERRIMACK and BLACK ANVIL (who will perform on select dates).

MANTIC RITUAL's debut album, "Executioner", was released in the U.S. on March 10 via Nuclear Blast Records (February 27 in Europe). The CD was recorded at Andy Classen's (LEGION OF THE DAMNED, DEW-SCENTED, NEAERA, BELPHEGOR, ASPHYX) Stage One Studio in Germany.
